I won't lie to you; when I first met this word, I was incredibly turned off. Panurgic, to me, seemed like the ugly love-child of panic and urgent, two words I prefer to leave out of my life. However, to ease any discomfort you may have with this word (and encourage you to use it), we'll give you the definition:
Panurgic (adj): skilled in many trades; or, jack-of-all-trades.
Much nicer than I'd originally thought. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, I'm a big fan of words that play a little trick on me.
Now that you've been introduced, it's time to get started. Kick your inspiration into gear by drawing, freewriting, dancing (hey, I don't judge), compiling a list of similar words, etc.
For today's Word Nerd Wednesday, we challenge you to specifically write a poem of address. Write to someone you love that you consider to be panurgic. Write to someone you hate. Write to someone you've never met. Write to someone you used to know. Whatever you like! Just make sure to throw 'panurgic' into your title, and of course, share your work with us when you're done!
What words have you collected lately?
