I Go To Seek A Great Perhaps

Hello!

Here's a quick freewriting prompt for you today!

Take a look at the photo below. It features the last words of Francois Rabelais:

"I go to seek a great perhaps."

Freewrite for 10 minutes each on the following three things:

1. Is death a great adventure (as this photo seems to suggest), or an unknown, dark enemy?
2. What would your last words be? Draft multiple different versions and play around with what instances you might say each.
3. How do you view death?

Use this material to write a poem. If you need help thinking about death, you can take a look at our Musing entitled "Poems From Beyond the Grave: Stirrings and Inspirations From the Other Side". It will take you on a metaphorical graveyard stroll among some of poetry's most famous graves. It is jam-packed with death-related inspiration if you're looking for it!

Happy freewriting, everyone! Until next time, this is Alli, over and out.
