Happy Wednesday! As winter gets more and more dreary and the cold drags on, even a snow lover like myself wishes there'd be a little more sunshine. Break out of that mid-February fog and get a little pep back in your poetry with today's word...
(Do any of you find yourself continually drawn towards words that start with a certain letter? I don't know what it is, but I've been all about the a's, as of late.)
If you've heard this word before, props! "Apricity" is considered to be archaic and obsolete, but thankfully we have fellow word nerds in all corners of the internet to keep it alive and well. How about a definition?
If you've been keeping up with Word Nerd Wednesday, you know there are a few ways you can use this delightful word in your writing today:
1. Use the Word of the Day to inspire you: free write for ten minutes, sketch a drawing, write a list of words that sound similar to the Word of the Day, etc.
2. Compose a poem (one page or less).
3. Use the Word of the Day as your poem's title.
Remember, you don't have to necessarily use the word in your poem at all; just sit back, relax, and see where the warmth of the sun takes you today.
Nerding out over your Word Nerd creation? Tell us about it in the comments below, or email us a copy of your poem!
