Welcome to Throwback Thursday: ROUND TWO!
As you already know, each week of National Poetry Month, we're going to be taking a look at some of our favorite posts from months past and rounding up our favorite National Poetry Month posts from last week. Are you ready, Freddie?! LET'S DO THIS THANG:
Throwback Thursday:
Writing Prompts from Last Year
1. When to Embrace Form and When to Throw it On the Ground
This is some shit every poet needs to know: when to stick with a form and when to take the Andy Samberg way out. Plus, this post is filled with actual advice as well as copious amounts of memeage.
Do you know what a pantoum is? It's actually a really cool form to work with. In my experience, even poets who don't dig form all that much (*cough*me*cough*) can get into a pantoum. Take a look, broaden your horizons, do great things.
So, this is probably one of our favorite Shakespeare memes on the internet. Looking for a laugh? Give it a click.
4. Word Nerd Wednesday: Panurgic
Looking for some quick inspiration? This awesome Word Nerd Wednesday post just might do the trick!
5. Poems From Beyond the Grave: Stirrings and Inspirations From the Other Side
Looking for something cool to do today? How about taking a virtual walk around a graveyard filled with famous writers and poets? If you're looking for some ghostly inspiration, this should do it for ya.
In Case You Missed It:
National Poetry Month 2015 So Far
1. Your Weekly Reading List
It wouldn't be National Poetry Month if we weren't bringing you new poetry prompts as often as possible! Each weekend, we'll be posting a Weekend Whimsy to inspire your artistic side. Can you dig it this week?! We're all about that Renoir, baby.
Hint: check the blog tomorrow for some brand spankin' NEW printables!
4. 10 Things We Learned From "The Dead Poets Society"
Essentially, a love letter to John Keating. Am I the least bit ashamed? No. Did writing that post give me lots of joy? Yes. Did I stand on my desk afterward while watching "Dead Poets Society"? ....I'll never tell.
Phew! There's even MORE new stuff located on the homepage of our blog---these are just the highlights. Keep clicking around and checking back for our all-new National Poetry Month content, as well as more inspiring prompts!
