Anime Eyes and Big Limousines

(source)

Needing a little pick-me-up from the summertime sadness? Relaxation from the chaos? Check out this music video for “Meteorites” by Canadian singer-songwriter Lights.

After you’re done watching, here are a few little quick prompts:

1. Write a poem including the word "perseids".

2. Write a poem based on the imagery in the video or in the lyrics. Foggy but bright color, “anime eyes and big limousines,” pink-tinged water, slipping upwards, singing out of time and out of sync, “breathing fire in your sleep.”

3. Write poem and then rewrite it in reverse. This could be literally, line by line, or by taking the subject or image you originally ended with and starting the poem with this train-of-thought instead, working backwards to discover what instigated your original poem.
