It's time for my favorite day of the week: Word Nerd Wednesday!
Each week, your editors scour their brains (or, the internet) to find poetry-worthy words to help inspire your writing. Sometimes we have brilliant moments of word association, and pick our word of the day prompts from those. Other times, we stumble upon a stunning word just by luck...like this week. Let's take a look:
Now that you have another interesting word to add to your word list, it's time to start writing! The way I see it, you can go about using this word in one of two ways for today's writing prompt.
1. Freewrite on the word of the day as it applies to someone or something else. Who, or what, is most worthy of your admiration, and why?
2. Freewrite on the word of the day as it applies to you: why are you worth attention and admiration?
When your freewriting is done, go back and look at what you wrote. Edit to your heart's content, and for bonus points, make sure the word 'cynosure' appears somewhere in your poem, or in your poem title. Happy writing, friends!
